We are pleased that our church family is incorporating the New City Catechism into our discipleship efforts. This resource serves as an essential tool for instructing both adults and children in the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. By engaging with its questions and answers, we aim to cultivate a deeper understanding of Scripture and strengthen our spiritual growth together. We encourage everyone to join us on this journey of learning and faith formation.
We approach the New City Catechism in two main ways to accomplish the most in instruction, discipleship and encouragement.
Through Family Discipleship
We encourage our families to begin at home by taking one day a week to use the NCC for family or individual devotions. Review the question, answer and verse with everyone and discuss briefly what it means. The Catechism also comes with a devotion written for each question. Hard copies of this can be purchased through amazon.ca or can be accessed freely on the NCC website or through the mobile app.
Through Children’s and Youth Ministry Review
Each week in our children’s (Kid’s Bible Time and Sunday School) and youth (Sunday School and Youth Group) programs we take a few minutes to review and reinforce the question, answer and verse with the students.
